About the Role

We are seeking a Career Development Facilitator to support learners as they prepare for and transition into the workforce. This role combines facilitation, career coaching, employer engagement, and program coordination.

You will work directly with learners, employers, and community partners to deliver training programs, support job placements, and help individuals achieve sustainable employment.

What a Typical Week Might Look Like

  • Facilitating workplace readiness training sessions

  • Supporting learners with resumes, interviews, and job search strategies

  • Meeting with employer partners and building new relationships

  • Traveling to community sites for learner and employer check-ins

  • Coordinating hiring events or employer engagement activities

  • Tracking learner progress and preparing program reports

Key Responsibilities

Program Delivery & Facilitation

  • Deliver workplace readiness and career development training

  • Support learners through work placements and employment transitions

  • Assist with curriculum updates and program improvements

Learner Support & Career Coaching

  • Provide 1:1 and group job search support

  • Help learners develop resumes, cover letters, and interview skills

  • Match learners with suitable job opportunities

Employer & Community Engagement

  • Build and maintain relationships with employers and partners

  • Develop job leads and create employment opportunities for learners

  • Coordinate networking events and employer engagement activities

Program Coordination & Administration

  • Track learner progress and maintain accurate records

  • Collect labour market information and share insights with learners

  • Complete weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting

Additional Support

  • Assist with workforce development events

  • Travel to support program delivery and partnerships

  • Contribute to team meetings and program success

Qualifications & Experience

  • 2+ years of experience in employment services, career development, facilitation, or recruitment

  • Post-secondary education in a related field (or equivalent experience)

  • Experience working with diverse communities and populations

  • Strong communication, organization, and relationship-building skills

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively

  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, evolving environment

Bonus Assets

  • Experience with training-to-employment programs

  • Experience working with First Nations, Métis, and Inuit communities

  • Employment Counsellor or Coaching certification

  • Experience with government-funded programs

  • Background in marketing, business development, or community engagement

Other Requirements

  • Based in the Edmonton area with ability to work in a hybrid environment

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle

  • Willingness to travel frequently across Alberta and occasionally Western Canada (travel expenses reimbursed)

  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends

  • Vulnerable Sector Criminal record check required
